GOODBYE
23.2.04
if u realise ar..the latest episode of remaja bergolak is abt young adults who are on their roads to achievin their ambitions and some who have already achieved that goal in life. for example, that young scientist for IBN, emril mohd ali, an eligible bachelor i shud say cuz of his good looks. that gal from arts n soci NUS, who is currently embarkin on her journey to becomin the nex representative for UN and all. then this show started highliting the need for that piece of paper, dat 'segulung ijazah'. about how the society now only judge a person by the number of papers he has, which he uni he attended and so on.
dats so sad, does it mean that us, w/o that paper cant be as successful? are we supposedly not good enuff der the werkin werld? but are those pple wif da sought after certifications actually able to do the job? are they experienced anuff and skilled enuff for the job? if u actually realise, the academic syllabus here in singapore, covers mostly on theory, and goes strictly by the book. some undergrad courses do not actually have attachment programmes or on the job trainings. are these grads skill enuff for the werkin werld? does paper really matters?
and can suria juz at least once interview a student or juz anyone who is not rich or sumone whose father is not anotha graduate or dad who is one of the grassroots leaders. so far most of these pelajar contoh who are given opportunity to go fer their further studies abroad, go on school trips overseas, are brought up wif a silver spoon in their mouth. they are born rich , thats exactly why they can afford the expenses to study.that UN gal fer example, said this " ibu saya ialah pendorong saya selama ini dari segi motivation, nasihat dan WANG" see...if anotha kid is as bright as her and has the same leadership qualities as her but her family does not hav the means to bring her overseas, do u tink she will go as far as dat gal? no.i dun tink so.
morever the malay leaders are not exactly doin their job here.
lets take mendaki as an example. a few years back, we have the mendaki tuition scheme. i remember havin schmates n tuition mates goin for these classes. but i was not able to attend the classes cuz i was the fifth child and supposedly our monthli household income was not enuff. to be able to attend these classes my dad or mum prolly need to be doctors or werkin professionals. and oh..mendaki hav these practice whereby org ygpandai die makin tolong kasi banyak duit, kasi banyak courses...budak2 yg keciciran tak dpt bantuan. remember da top ten percent malay cohort after PSLE, well these kids hav summer camps, debates, lotsa programmes goin on fer em..cuz they are supposedly the creme of the crop. and the rest had nuting.no help..arent they suppose to help the rest of the malay students. well, i was form an autonomous sch, taking higher malay and from the special stream, but i was not offered all these activities cuz i was not one of the top ten percent malay students. so much fer helpin " anak2 melayu kita". remaja bergolak shud be renamed remaja kaya bergolak.
